You are cordially invited to participate in the3rd International WAVEX Conference: Physical and Cognitive Reseach will be held at the CHU-Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, France, August 29-31, 2019.
iWAVEX 2019 Conference will focus on advancing the theory and applications of Physical and Cognitive health, by adopting a human-centered approach that utilizes and expands on the current knowledge while utilizing technological advancements. This interdisciplinary conference will also expand the boundaries of the current state-of-the-art by investigating the pervasive complexity that underlies the most profound problems facing contemporary society today.
The objective of this meeting is to bring together researchers and companies interested in the use of Physical and Cognitive Healthcare research. Fundamental as well as applied research are important topics, next to new developments in equipment and protocols in how to apply whole body vibration.
iWAVEX conference researchers are interested in the potential of whole body vibration (WBV) for physical and cognitive health. During WBV a vibration source (usually a platform) transfers mechanical vibrations to the body of a subject standing or sitting on that platform. Numerous studies on WBV exist examining the potential harms of undergoing strong and erratic vibrations (the so-called bad vibrations). However, another side of WBV are the mild vibrations, around 30 Hz and with limited amplitude (low-intensity vibrations). These could be considered as “good vibrations”. As the “bad vibrations” are potentially around the corner when applying WBV, one of the aims of this conference is to start setting up guidelines for safe and optimal use of WBV. Another aim of the conference is to inform each other about the newest developments in the field, and to share new ideas and insights.
All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by three independent referees from the International Editorial Board. Papers in the theoretical category should deal with theories, models, concepts, and structures; papers in the generic category should present research results of broad applicability; and papers in the applied category should show how research is translated into technological innovations.
The conference proceedings published by Springer and submitted for Indexing to ISI Proceedings, EI-Compendex, DBLP, SCOPUS, Google Scholar and Springerlink.
